Nill (ニル, Niru) is a 14-year-old mute girl who has been genetically modified. After Heine rescues her from a future in prostitution, the two develop a close bond, and the other protagonists are all seen to treat her with kindness. She is voiced by Mamiko Noto on the drama CD and in the anime adaption.

Appearance[]

Nill has blonde hair and blue-green eyes. Her hair is usually worn down or in pigtails. She's first seen wearing only a plain white dress, but later takes to wearing the Lolita dresses Bishop keeps for her. Her wings are small and white-feathered, appearing to be for show rather than function.

Personality[]

She is the only female Heine is comfortable around and even when she is in physical contact with him, Heine does not suffer mental breakdowns. Bishop takes her in at the church and gives her Gothic Lolita dresses to wear. She and Naoto develop a sisterly bond and often spend time together. Despite not being able to speak, she's able to express her emotions.

Relationships[]

Heine[]

Notably, she is the only female Heine is comfortable around, and hasn't triggered a violent reaction through physical contact with him. Heine is protective of her.

Bishop[]

Bishop takes care of Nill, giving her a home at the church and clothes to wear (though Heine says he has a Lolita complex). He is also protective of Nill but sometimes embarrasses her by showing off how cute she is.

Naoto[]

Naoto first met Nill after saving her quite heroically from the Calcerino family at Bishop's church. Afterwards, the two have gotten closer and have been seen to spend time together.

History[]

Dogs: Stray Dogs Howling In The Dark[]

She appears in Heine's prologue.

Trivia[]

  • She is very bad at sewing and is trying to learn how so she can fix Heine's and Naoto's torn, bullet hole ridden clothes.
  • Her wings stick straight out to show aggression when she is angry.
